Hyperbranched poly(hydroxyethers) from bicyclic carbonate with phenol group

Summary

General characteristics of hyperbranched polymers has been presented and especially preparation of poly(hydroxyethers) of this structure has been taken into consideration. There were elaborated the conditions of multistage synthesis of bicyclic carbonate containing phenol group in a molecule - N,N-bis(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-4-hydroxy aniline (Scheme B and C) - what was subjected to polycondensation with or without the starter which was either trimethylolpropane triglycidyl ether or 2,2-bis[4-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)phenyl]propane dicarbonate. The monomer was characterized on the basis of 1H and 13CnmR spectra (Fig. 3 and 4) while formed hyperbranched poly(hydroxyethers) on the basis of mass spectra (Fig. 5) and results of GPC investigations (Fig. 6).
