DOI: dx.doi.org/10.14314/polimery.1999.709

A review with 116 references (papers, patents, patent applications) covering mainly 1997-1998, on the chemistry and technology of unsaturated polyester resins. Syntheses of novel polyester resins using, among other raw materials, dicyclopentadiene and polyethylene terephthalate) scrap, are summarized. New methods used to suppress styrene emission and flammability of resins are described. Particular attention is given to the progress in photochemical curing and in preparing powder coatings and molding powders based on unsaturated polyester resins.

Keywords: unsaturated polyester resins, photochemical curing, recycling, coating materials, styrene emission
